Prof. Michael R. Hamblin (PhD, Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Assc. Professor at Harvard Medical School) is a basic researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on photodynamic therapy and photobiomodulation. He has 420 peer-reviewed publications, is the editor-in-chief of the journal "Photobiomodulation, Photomedicine and Laser Surgery" and associate editor of another 10 journals. It has an h-factor of 90 and has been cited more than 32 000 times. He is the author and editor of 23 books on photodynamic therapy and photomedicine and a Fellow of SPIE (International Society for Optics and Photonics). In 2017 he received the first Endre Master Lifetime Achievement Award Photomedicine from NAALT.
